Seresto Cats Antiparasitic Collar Long Lasting 8 Months
Seresto Antiparasitic Collar for Cats.
Composition per necklace: 1 Seresto Collar (38 cm) for cats contains: 1.25 g of imidacloprid and 0.56 g of flumethrin.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of flea infestation ( Ctenocephalides felis ) for 7-8 months. Effectiveness against fleas begins immediately after application of the collar. In cats, it protects the animal's immediate environment by inhibiting the development of flea larvae for 10 weeks. It can be used as part of a flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) treatment strategy. The medicine is effective against tick infestations for 8 months due to its repellent effect (in dogs, Ixodes ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus and in cats, Ixodes ricinus ) and its acaricidal effect (in dogs and cats, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus turanicus ). It is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks.
Pharmacological properties
Imidacloprid is an ectoparasiticide active against the larval stages of fleas, adult fleas and lice. Flumethrin is an ectoparasiticide that provides the acaricidal activity of the drug. The medicine has a repellent effect against ticks. The two active substances are released continuously and slowly at low concentrations, from the collar to the cat, being present in the fur at acaricidal/insecticidal concentrations during the entire period of effectiveness.
Dosage and method of administration
1 collar per animal.
Fit the collar loosely around the neck (leave a space of approximately 2 fingers between the collar and the neck). The animal must wear the collar continuously during the 8-month protection period. Check the collar periodically and adjust it if necessary, especially on rapidly growing kittens. The necklace is designed with a secure locking mechanism. In the unlikely event that a cat becomes trapped by the collar, the animal's own strength is enough to widen it and remove it quickly.
